January 18: Electrostatics: Do something shocking with Leyden jars and van der Graaff generators! Room C120

February 1: Astronomy: Leonid has never been up in space, but he knows a lot about the night sky! Join us outside to explore the surface of the moon and other objects of the solar system. (NOTE: In case of inclement weather, students will tackle an engineering challenge). Room C120

February 15: Chemical kinetics: Discover the principles that determine how fast a reaction occurs by making toothpaste fit for an elephant, creating a chemical clock, and discovering the secrets behind glowing blood! Room C120

March 7 and 21: Biopolymers: This is a two-week session! Farm microbes and harvest cellulose, synthesize rayon and other polymers, and make jewelry with your own DNA. Room A008

April 4: Pressure: Make a vacuum pump and explore the effects of vacuum and high pressure on animate and inanimate objects! Room C120

April 18: Electrochemistry: Discover the world of batteries by constructing several different types yourself and experiment with other electrifying aspects of chemistry. Room C120
